The Green Grass Learning Center is committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education programs that support children’s growth in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. We foster each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through meaningful and positive experiences.

We believe that every child is unique and should be encouraged to learn and grow at their own individual pace.

AFTER-SCHOOL ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Homework help, Mandarin Chinese, supplemental math, English practice, Drawing, and Art crafts are all included in our after-school program tuition. Your child may participate in all of these programs, or you may choose any combination.

Safety IN G.G.L.C

Safety is always the top priority in our center.  G.G.L.C will provide a safe, caring, and nurturing area for your child.

Homework Help

Quiet time is provided for students to work on their homework assignments. Two staff members are available to answer questions and review completed work.

Mandarin Chinese

G.G.L.C offers Simplified Mandarin Chinese instruction as part of our after-school program. The goal of this program is to create a lively and engaging learning environment that inspires children to enjoy learning Chinese. (Includes Chinese and English children’s songs)

We use the Zhong Wen Chinese Textbook Series published by Ji-Nan University. This curriculum introduces approximately 2,500 Chinese characters, covers a wide variety of topics, and provides an overview of Chinese culture, including geography, history, and philosophy.

  • Volumes 1–9 focus on the fundamentals of the Chinese language, including characters, the Pinyin system, sentence structures, and short writing exercises.

  • Volumes 10–12 introduce more advanced topics such as Chinese geography, history, and philosophy.

The content is written in simple, easy-to-understand language, allowing students to learn the Chinese language and culture more effectively.

Math & Critical Thinking

We use EXL practice assignments tailored to each child’s level to keep them motivated and appropriately challenged. Students will tackle new learning objectives and make measurable progress in their math skills.

Weekly progress updates are provided.
(Please check your child’s Friday packet.)

English (Reading Comprehension & Grammar)

Our teachers create individualized English assignments for each student. This program reinforces and expands on the language arts skills taught during the regular school year. We primarily use grade-appropriate worksheets from reputable educational publishers.

This will help your child meet state academic standards and encourage them to reach higher levels of achievement.
Students are encouraged to read at least 30 minutes each day.
Our mini library offers books for all grade levels to support daily reading.

Other Fun Activities

  • Drawing Class: Wednesday & Fridays, 4:30 – 5:30 PM

  • Piano Practice: All grade levels, 10–15 minutes per student daily (limited sign-up)

  • Computer Typing: Grades 3–8, 15 minutes per student daily (limited sign-up)

  • After 5:30 PM: Board games, computer typing, and table tennis (ping pong) are available daily
